Eco-Man

An Android business record book for reviewed receipts, sales, expenses, and statements — with private originals, portable backups, and explicit sharing.

Eco-Man starts with a familiar small-business problem: the records exist, but they are scattered across receipts, statements, and somebody’s memory. The Android app gives those records a home. Owners can review document details, save sales and expenses, and read their books through a calm, legible interface.

I work across the native Kotlin and Jetpack Compose application, its Room database, and the FastAPI backend. The design uses the character of a desk calculator and a ruled record book. Large amounts, readable labels, and direct actions matter more than filling a dashboard with charts.

Read, review, then save

Receipt and bank-statement capture lead into different review flows. Extracted text is a draft. The owner checks dates, amounts, classifications, and selected rows before saving. Repayments and transfers need their own meaning so they do not quietly become another purchase or sale.

Original documents stay private by default. The app keeps the source available beside the saved record and supports portable backup and restore. Missing details stay unknown until someone supplies them; a blank payment date should never become an invented transaction date.

Sharing is a decision

Account-owned local Books and optional Cloud Books serve different working needs. Team access follows business membership and explicit consent. A shared financial record does not automatically give someone its original document. Read-only document sharing and original transfer require their own choices.

The assistant can discuss saved information and explain available summaries. People remain responsible for their records and review. Eco-Man does not file government forms or certify compliance.

Android is the current priority, with English and Filipino interfaces, enlarged-text layouts, and recoverable error states. Working tester builds and backend deployments support continued development; store, physical-device, and business-pilot acceptance remain separate milestones. The aim is a dependable record book that a busy owner can return to tomorrow.
